Message from founder
Hi! I'm Candice, the founder of HeartStrong Kentucky!
I'm a registered nurse with a professional background in emergency medicine, trauma care, forensic nursing, and healthcare leadership. I'm also a licensed Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), qualified to provide specialized care for both pediatric and adult patients.
Throughout my nursing career, I've had the privilege of caring for patients and families during some of their most critical and vulnerable moments. From life-threatening emergencies and traumatic injuries to providing compassionate, specialized care for survivors of sexual assault, my experiences have reinforced just how important knowledge, preparation, and early intervention truly are.
I've seen firsthand how quickly an ordinary day can become an emergency—and how much of a difference it can make when someone nearby knows what to do.
That's why I founded HeartStrong Kentucky.
I believe lifesaving skills shouldn't be limited to healthcare professionals. Parents, teachers, coaches, caregivers, business owners, and everyday members of our community deserve the knowledge and confidence to respond when seconds matter.
My goal is to make CPR, AED, First Aid, and emergency preparedness training engaging, practical, and approachable. I strive to create a welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, practicing new skills, and building confidence.
With small classes limited to nine participants, I can provide personalized instruction and ensure everyone has the opportunity for meaningful hands-on practice.
Whether you're a healthcare professional renewing your BLS certification, a parent wanting to protect your family, or an employer preparing your team, I want you to leave class with more than a certification card.
I want you to leave knowing that you have the skills and confidence to make a difference.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you become better prepared for life's unexpected moments.
Candice
